FBI arrests NYC mobsters with alleged ties to Russian mafia and Donald Trump

We almost missed it: the NBC 4 report that broke late Tuesday afternoon March 28...

The FBI and NYPD Joint Organized Crime Task Force arrested ten mobsters in New York City on 37 charges related to a racketeering conspiracy on Tuesday, March 28. The operation, which has apparently netted the crooks $26 million, has been in operation since 1998.

The report quotes Acting Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Bridget Rohde: "Through acts of violence including murder conspiracy the defendants are alleged to have amassed a fortune in ill-gotten gains."

"The mafia hasn't stopped operating and the crimes these members are charged with today proves that," said FBI Assistant Director William Sweeney.

What's interesting is that the article links the men to the Bonanno organized crime family which court records show partnered with Russian businessman, Felix Sater. Sater is a former Bayrock executive and business partner of Donald Trump, according to court records dated March 22, 2017.
